Power. Our lives depend on it. From everyday necessities like heating, cooling, refrigeration and lights, to daily essentials like cooking, laundry or kids’ bath times. Power outages are occurring more frequently than ever and lasting longer with devastating effects. Stand-up to unpredictable weather and unforeseen outages with a reliable standby power generator. If the power ever goes out, your protected, you and your home or business, 24/7.

How does it work?

The concept is simple really. Standby generators are permanently installed outside and operate similar to a central air conditioner, with two main differences;
1. Motor vs. Engine. A standby Generator utilizes an engine instead of motor. Unlike the electric motor in your air conditioner, a standby generator uses its engine to produce its own power.
2. Automatic Transfer Switch. Instead of a thermostat, standby generators have an automatic transfer switch to monitor utility power and detect when power has been interrupted. When it goes out, the automatic transfer switch turns the generator on and supplies the necessary power- whether you're home or not - and automatically shuts off the back-up generator when power is restored.

Unlike portable generators, automatic standby generators operate automatically, with no human intervention or effort.

Unlike some equipment gathering dust in a corner of your garage, you can be confident of your standby generator's readiness. Every week, an automatic back-up generator starts itself for a brief test run, ensuring that all components are always prepared to take over power, at a moment's notice.

What will a back-up generator do for you?

During an emergency, a back-up generator allows you to continue using essential appliances such as air conditioners, heaters and refrigerators, as well as lights, computers and other critical items. A standby generator is powered by your natural gas or liquid propane gas supply, so run time is not limited by the size of a gasoline or diesel fuel tank, unlike a portable generator. Standby generators automatically power your home or business during a power outage without lifting a finger. No refueling. No extension cords. .

What size back-up generator do I need?

The first step in determining what size back-up generator you need, is to decide if you want to power your whole building, essential circuits or somewhere in between. It's a good idea to make a list of the items that you feel are essential and itemize tham in order of importance. The term "whole house" is really dependent upon the size of your building. A common misconception about home standby generators is that one-size fits all. The size of your home or business, as well as the effiecieny of the components within, play a big part in calculating the size of the back-up generator you need.
Residential and commercial models are available from 6 - 150kW, and industrial and diesel models are available up to 600kW, so whatever size you need there is a back-up generator to supply you wiht the power you need.

Are you prepared?

A back-up generator means, never being left in the dark. An outage can occur at any time, day or night, from storms, to ice, to simply the overpowering of our aging utility grid. Whatever the cause, a standby generator is ready and waiting, keeping you safe and comfortable. Who controls your power? With a back-up generator the answer is, you do!

We've got your back - Back-up that is...

Losing power for even a few hours can be more than just an inconvenience. for a business it can mean thousands of dollars in lost revenue to your business.
